Georgia Museum of Art

This addition and renovation to the existing 1996 museum building results in a new 82,400-square-foot facility. Gluckman Mayner's design consists of four main points of intervention: 1) Addition of a new gallery wing to the south; 2) Addition of a new glazed connector, linking the existing building and the new wing, overlooking a new sculpture garden in the exterior space captured by the new wing; 3) Expansion of the existing building to the north, greatly increasing art storage, back-of-house and office space; and 4) Internal renovation of most spaces, galleries and HVAC systems in the existing building.
