Gluckman Tang reveals masterplan for North Adams' Heritage State Park development

Gluckman Tang has developed a masterplan for the Western Gateway Heritage State Park, a key component of the region known as the “Cultural Corridor” and anchored by the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA). In addition to strengthening strategic infrastructure connections and site improvements, the plan includes schematic designs for repurposing six historic structures, with a 6,000 SF addition and renovation of a 19th c. warehouse into the 'Museum of Time' as a centerpiece.

In addition to the Museum of Time, the masterplan features schematic designs for adapting and expanding several industrial buildings for a variety of uses. These include:

► Transforming a 8,000 SF former dry-goods storage building into a mixed-use facility housing retail, food and beverage services, and office space for the Mt. Greylock Distillery

► Doubling the area of a 3,250 SF coal hopper and opening up the interior to create a triple-height distilling hall with a mezzanine observation level, and adding a tasting lounge and retail space

► Converting a 3,500 SF grain warehouse into a storage and events space for the distillery
